2. SOLUTIONS FOR COMMON FIT CHALLENGES

Everyone’s body is different — here’s how to dial in your fit no matter your shape or proportions. We have gotten this question a lot- I had no experience in how to answer it- so we worked with multiple individuals to get this perfect. Really simple fixes.

Long Torso

  • Problem: Shirts ride up when you move or feel too short overall.

  • Solution:

    • Size up for extra body length.

    • Comfort Colors are naturally longer, so true size may work.

Short Torso

  • Problem: Shirts feel too long or bunch up at the waist.

  • Solution:

    • Stay true-to-size or size down for a cleaner look.

Broad Shoulders / Muscular Build

  • Problem: Shirts are tight across shoulders and upper arms.

  • Solution:

    • Size up for mobility and comfort.

    • Next Level 6210 tees are tapered, which is perfect for athletic builds.

Slim / Narrow Build

  • Problem: Shirts look boxy or too wide.

  • Solution:

    • Stick with true-to-size for a more fitted look.

    • Avoid sizing up unless going for a streetwear vibe.

Athletic / V-Shape (Broad Shoulders, Narrow Waist)

  • Problem: Fit is perfect in the shoulders but loose at the waist.

  • Solution:

    • Stay true-to-size with Next Level tees.

    • Use layering (hoodies, jackets) to balance proportions.

Taller Than Average

  • Problem: Shirts are too short overall or ride up when lifting arms.

  • Solution:

    • Size up for extra length.

    • Hoodies and Comfort Colors typically have more natural length.

Shorter Than Average

  • Problem: Shirts feel baggy or too long.

  • Solution:

    • Stick with true-to-size or size down.

Between Sizes

  • Problem: Your measurements fall between two size ranges.

  • Solution:

    • For fitted look, go down one size.

    • For relaxed or streetwear fit, go up one size.

    • Hoodies are more forgiving and can usually go either way.

3. PICKING THE RIGHT SIZE FOR YOUR STYLE

Your preferred style matters just as much as your body type.
Here’s how to choose a size for the look you want:

Baggy / Oversized

  • Size one or two sizes up depending on how dramatic you want the look.

  • Works best with hoodies and Comfort Colors tees.

Slim Fit

  • Stay true-to-size for a clean, athletic look.

  • Perfect for Next Level 6210 tees.

Layering

  • Consider sizing up one size to make room for undershirts or base layers.

  • Ideal for colder climates or hoodies worn over tees.

Everyday Fitted Wear

  • True-to-size is best.

  • Balances comfort and style.-Not Too Tight, not too loose.

Looser Abdomen Fit

  • If you carry weight around your midsection, consider sizing up one size.

  • Comfort Colors are naturally forgiving and great for this fit style.

4. CARING FOR YOUR GEAR

Proper care keeps your shirts and hoodies looking new and fitting right for longer.

Washing

  • Wash cold to prevent shrinkage.

  • Use a gentle detergent — avoid bleach.

Drying

  • Air dry or tumble dry on low heat.

  • High heat can shrink cotton and damage graphics.

Storage

  • Fold neatly to avoid stretching out necklines.

  • If hanging, use wide hangers to maintain shoulder shape.

Pro Tip: Fabric Memory

High-quality cotton and blends have what’s called “fabric memory”:

  • After a wash and dry, the shirt returns to its original shapeif properly cared for.

  • Avoid stretching the neck or sleeves while wet, as it can distort the fit permanently.

Pro Tip: Wash Before First Wear

Washing before wearing:

  • Removes any leftover dyes or production residues.

  • Allows for minor pre-shrinkage so you know exactly how the shirt will fit after that first wash.
